Playing Condition - Replace worn pads, key corks & springs as needed. Regulate and adjust action to factory specifications. Play test instrument. Please note that due to the wide differences in the amount of repairs this job could involve, the prices listed are estimates only. Final estimate upon inspection. Complete Repad - Complete disassembly of instrument with removal of excess wear from each key.
On metal & plastic instruments the body & keys are washed in soap & water.
On wooden instruments the bodies are hand cleaned & the keys washed in soap & water. All pads & key corks are replaced. Springs are replaced if needed. On saxophones, we use restini pads which have a waterproofing silicone seal. The job price includes either the Aluminum "sil-va-wave" resonators or the plastic Selmer style resonators. On clarinets we use Ferree's B11 pads and on flutes Ferree's B30 pads. Other types of pads and resonators can be installed on special request. The instrument is then reassembled. Each pad is first individually fit and then the combinations are adjusted. The action is regulated to factory specifications with attention to proper key height and a balanced spring tension throughout the instrument. The instrument is play tested for intonation and ease of play. On saxophones, the job includes a new neck cork. On flutes, a new tuning cork. On clarinets, cork joints are extra (see misc. services).
